One of England's World Cup group stage opponents, Ghana, have scheduled a warm-up fixture in Cardiff at the beginning of June in what Wales hope will also be preparation for the 2026 tournament if they come through this month's qualifying play-offs.

Ghana will also play a friendly against Germany in Stuttgart shortly as they build up to the summer in North America.

Although they failed to qualify for the current AFCON competition taking place in Morocco, Ghana were impressive in World Cup qualfying with eight wins from their ten matches easily securing top spot in Group I.

For Germany they will potentially provide a similar test to their group stage opponents Ivory Coast.

Ghana, who take on England on 23 June in the second group game for both sides, faced Japan and South Korea in their most recent internationals, losing 2-0 against a Japan side who travel to Wembley in March and by a single goal to South Korea.
