Kyle Walker and Jordan Henderson will still harbour World Cup hopes after joining new clubs this summer, the experienced duo with 180 England cap between them having joined Burnley and Brentford respectively.

For Walker, just four international appearances away from reaching centurion status, his switch to the Premier League newcomers comes after a loan spell with AC Milan last season and the end of his glittering Manchester City carer.

"I can't wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad," the 35-year-old old the official Burnley FC website after sealing his move to Turf Moor.

For Henderson it is a return to the Premier League following time in Saudi Arabia and at Ajax and a chance to remain in Thomas Tuchel's thoughts after being handed a surprise international recall last season when many thought his time in a Three Lions shirt had ended.

New Bees manager Keith Andrews believes the midfielder will provde leadership to his team, telling Brentford FC club media: "With the void of experienced players leaving the building - Christian Norgaard, Mark Flekken and Ben Mee - it was important to replace that."

Tuchel's first squad of the World Cup season will be named for the early September qualifiers at home to Andorra and away to Serbia, potentially the crucial fixture in England's group.
