Fellow Russia 2018 finalists Saudi Arabia will provide the opposition for Belgium in Brussels on 27 March.

Roberto Martinez's side are considered one of the favourites to lift the trophy, the Spaniard presiding over a squad containing many of the Premier League’s star names such as Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne.

De Bruyne's Manchester City team-mate Vincent Kompany is also among those names but the popular defender's battles with injury mean he is considering his future with the national team.

"I can only play a limited amount of games per season," he told Belgian television recently.

"I'm still considering my future with Belgium. Maybe I'll take a decision before the World Cup.”

Belgium will take on Saudi Arabia during the next international break ,on the same evening England host Italy.

Italy, who have failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958, have confirmed that Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio will continue as caretaker of the senior side for the Wembley clash.
