England's opening Euro 2020 opponents are familiar foes as Gareth Southgate's side take on Croatia at Wembley on Sunday 14th June.

Having gained a measure of revenge for their World Cup semi-fnal defeat with a Nations League win at Wembley, Southgate will know all about the quality of player at Croatia's disposal but also the fierce pride that the small national shows at major tournaments.

Luka Modric and company will start their preparations for the Euros in earnest in March's international break by taking part in a four-team tournament in Qatar with fellow finalists Belgium, Switzerland and Portugal.

Croatia will play the Swiss on the 26th and Portugal on the 30th with England scouts sure to be in attendance to pick up some clues as to the thinking of coach Zlatko Dalic.

With their remaining Euro 2020 group games against the Czech Republic and the winner of the play-offs, to be played at Hampden Park, Croatia will be based in St Andrews during the competition.
