Gareth Southgate has named his squad for the upcoming friendlies against Holland and Italy.

James Tarkowski and Nick Pope of Burnley, Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson and Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook are the new names in the squad, the uncapped quartet given their chance to stake a claim for a place on the plane to Russia.

Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all come back into the reckoning for World Cup 2018 as part of a 27-man squad who will travel to Amsterdam on Friday 23rd before facing Italy at Wembley on Tuesday 27th.

It has been a day of squad announcements at the Football Association as a number of England age sides prepare for upcoming matches including a European Championship qualifier for Aidy Boothroyd's Under-21's at Bramall Lane, Sheffield, on Tuesday 27th.

Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham is an interesting new face in that squad.

England Under-20's host Portugal at Manchester City's Academy Stadium on Tuesday 27th and coach Keith Downing has named his squad for both that game and the preceeding trip to Poland.
