England Under-21's Book an Italian Adventure

A comprehensive victory against Andorra on Thursday evening sealed England’s place at the 2019 European Under-21 Championships with Aidy Boothroyd’s side putting seven goals past the minnows in Chesterfield.

An Auld Enemy clash with Scotland awaits on Tuesday but the result will make no difference at the top of the group as England will be in the Euro 2019 draw when it is made on 23 November and will be looking to improve on their run to the semi-finals in the 2017 tournament.

Italy and San Marino will host the tournament between 16-30 June 2019 and Boothroyd is sure to select a strong side with the seniors set not to be involved in the Nations League finale.

In many respects the side that played against Andorra is interchangeable with Gareth Southgate’s squad currently out in Croatia and Spain for two tough Nations League matches.

It doesn't take much of a leap of imagination to see the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Phil Foden in the seniors or Jadon Sancho in the Under-21's and those players who impressed on Thursday evening will know that Southgate has no qualms at all about promoting youth into his squad.
