2019 is set to be a huge year for England as they prepare for the FIFA Women's World Cup in France with the tournament shaping up to be the biggest ever staging of the event.

Some iconic stadiums will host matches, from the opening fixture of the Parc des Princes in Paris to the final in Lyon with two of England's group stage games taking place in the hugely attractive setting of the Allianz Riviera in Nice.

Scotland and Japan provide the opposition on the Mediterranean coast with Argentine making up the four-team group but although England boss Phil Neville has made the appropriate cautionary noises about the opening stage games he will know that success for his side will be judged on making the final four of the tournament.

A third-place finish in the 2015 competition has certainly helped contribute to the higher-profile currently enjoyed by the Lionesses but the slightly left-field appointment of Neville to replace Mark Sampson was made in order to take England to a new level of professionalism and competitiveness.

Those fine margins will be needed in the knockout stages next summer.

England warm-up with a trip to the SheBelieves Cup in late February/early March when World Cup rivals Japan will be one of their opponents along with hosts USA and Brazil.
