UEFA have issued their punishment for racist abuse of England players by Montenegro supporters at the recent Euro 2020 qualifier.

The nation's next home fixture will be played behind closed doors while a fine of 20,000 Euros has also been levied also this covers other charges in addition to racism and is put into perspective by the Irish FA receiving a 10,000 Euro fine for supporters throwing tennis balls onto the pitch in protest at former chief executive John Delaney.

In a statement the Football Association said: "We hope that their next home match being played behind closed doors sends out a message that racism has no place in football or in wider society," but England defender Danny Rose believes the punishments are far too lenient.

"It's a bit shocking but there's not much I can do now," the Tottenham man told Sky Sports.

"I just hope I don't ever have to play there again and we just have to move on now."
