Roy Hodgson faces injury D-Day

Roy Hodgson faces an anxious few hours on Sunday when his World Cup plans could be wrecked.

The England manager will unveil his 23-man squad and seven stand-by players at Luton on Monday.

But first Hodgson will be an impotent onlooker as he waits to discover if the final set of Premier League fixtures adds to his growing injury concerns.

Hodgson, who already expects to be without Kyle Walker, also has injury doubts over Phil Jagielka, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wayne Rooney.

If Hodgson loses any more, it will leave him struggling to fill the 30-man roster.

He plans to head for Wembley early on Monday to go through the medical reports on all the injured and doubtful players. It will only be then, when he has studied the latest updates, that the England boss will confirm the names that will be unveiled at 2pm.
