Where To See England This Autumn

Friendly matches on the back of poor World Cup's were difficult to sell for the Football Association in 2010 and 2014 and in both cases there was also little public appetite for routine European Championship qualifiers.

A hugely impressive 72,024 watched the 2010 homecoming friendly against Hungary but that had dropped to 40,181 in 2014 for the visit of Norway.

This time however, not only have England enjoyed a much better tournament but they will be straight into a high-profile game against Spain in the new UEFA Nations League.

That game takes place at Wembley on Saturday 8th September and that is followed by a friendly against Switzerland at Leicester's King Power Stadium on Tuesday 11th, a wise move by the FA to take the fixture elsewhere and allow for a smaller crowd but better atmosphere to take hold.

October's international break throws up the two away ties in the Nations League with World Cup foes Croatia and Spain the opposition.

Then in November there is a Wembley double-header against the USA in a friendly on Thursday 15th and Croatia on Sunday 18th.
